Ingredients
2 juicy seared steaks
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons butter
4 medium-sized sliced potatoes
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (divided)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure even cooking.
Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper. In a hot skillet, melt the butter and sear the steaks for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they develop a lovely brown crust.
Arrange the sliced potatoes in an even layer in a baking dish. Sprinkle the minced garlic over the top, then add half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
Carefully place the seared steaks on top of the potato layer, positioning them evenly across the dish.
Top the steaks and potatoes with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese, creating a cheesy crust.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
Remove the dish from the oven, let it cool slightly, and serve hot. Enjoy this hearty meal!
