Soy Sauce
Fresh Ginger
Garlic
Green Onions
Carrots
Cabbage
Mushrooms
Sesame Oil
Eggs (optional)
Nori (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the pork: Place the pork shoulder in the slow cooker and season it generously with salt and pepper.
Add liquid and aromatics: Pour in the vegetable broth, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic. Ensure the pork is mostly submerged.
Cook slowly: Set your slow cooker to low and cook for 6 to 8 hours. The pork should be very tender and easily shred with a fork.
Shred the pork: Once cooked, remove the pork from the cooker, shred it using two forks, and return it to the broth.
Cook the noodles: Prepare the ramen noodles according to package instructions while the pork is shredding.
Assemble the bowls: In serving bowls, place a portion of the cooked noodles. Spoon the broth and shredded pork over the top.
Top and serve: Add your choice of garnishes such as green onions, carrots, cabbage, and mushrooms. Drizzle with sesame oil and top with a soft-boiled egg and nori if using.
Notes
For best results, cook the pork on low for tenderness and adjust seasoning to taste towards the end of cooking.
