A quick and easy weeknight meal combining tender beef and crisp broccoli in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (sliced thinly against the grain)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, garlic, and beef broth. Set this sauce aside.
  2. Heat the Skillet: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the Beef: Add the sliced beef to the hot skillet and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes. Ensure not to overcrowd the pan for even cooking.
  4. Add Broccoli: Toss in the broccoli florets and stir-fry for another 3 minutes until they are vibrant green and slightly tender.
  5. Combine with Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and broccoli, stirring well to coat everything evenly.
  6. Thicken the Sauce: Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and clings to the beef and broccoli.
  7. Season and Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve hot.

Notes

For best texture, use fresh broccoli. Low-sodium soy sauce is recommended for less saltiness.
